Welcome to Stella Nails!

Stella Nails is dedicated to creating exciting and unique nail colours. We are based in the Canberra region in Australia.

Stella Nails was founded when creator Lynaire was pregnant and painting her nails. She was using a bottle of polish from the United States, which had different warning labels to Australian bottles. She was shocked to see a warning that the formaldehyde in the polish had been linked to birth defects! This inspired her to do much more research on the chemicals found in nail polish. She decided that she would only buy nail polish that was free of formaldehyde, toluene and dibutyl phthalate, known in the industry as Big 3-free.

Lynaire was unsatisfied with the choices of 3-free nail polishes available in Australia. Prices were grossly inflated, and the majority of unique independent brands were unavailable due to import laws. She was inspired to start making her own polishes using a newly sourced 5-free polish base, which also was free of formaldehyde resin and camphor.

Stella Nails has grown from a niche hobby into a thriving business with fans all over the world. Not only do we create completely unique nail polishes that are proudly Big 5-free, we also offer a customisation service to make a truly personalised product.
